Name Of Project
A fully participatory design process led to the transformation of this 0.3 hectare public courtyard in the Devons Estate, Bow with multiple opportunities for play and social interaction for the whole community.
‘So far the facility has been greatly received by residents. They are very pleased with the finished project and it is used regularly, not only by the local community but by organized groups for football tournaments. The design is standing up very well against usage and there have been no reported issues of vandalism.’
-Lorraine Roach, Senior project Manager, Poplar HARCA
‘The Devons space overall has been a great success. Young people and adults see it most importantly as their space to use and take care of. It has been well used by a mix of young people (different ages) and adults, with young people coordinating their own sports tournament and community events’
