Brightside Shiregreen forms one half of the North Area Development Framework within Sheffield’s Housing Market Renewal (HMR) area.
The ‘Neighbourhood Development Framework’ sets out a vision of how people want their community to look and feel.
Fluid worked alongside the North Sheffield Neighbourhood Stategies team to provide consultation, engagement and visioning services leading to the development of a Neighbourhood Plan and four Area Frameworks, including demonstration projects. The vision for the area was expressed through 4 ‘Big Ideas’ and strategic responses.
Fluid was commissioned to further develop the Neighbourhood Frameworks into more detailed, tested and costed plans and designs to enable the Council and its partners to identify funding for each of the physical improvements.
Character and urban landscape assessments led to the establishment of distinct neighbourhood identities and the resultant area plans were adopted by the Council and provide ‘material consideration’ to new planning applications in the area, providing guidelines to ensure future developments have a positive impact on the area.
