Masterplan for the development of a mixed-use scheme as part of an invited tender and shortlisted proposal to the Ballymore Group.

Fluid proposed and worked alongside team members Alison Brookes Architects and Stephen Taylor Associates to provide a range of skills and architectural approaches covering social, cultural, heritage and award winning experimental approaches to contextual design.

As usual for Fluid the design approach included an integrated consultation process and creative tools for local engagement.

The Brentford waterfront site represents a fantastic opportunity for the regeneration of the High Street, river and canal side environments that together describe a unique urban area that has exceptional potential and significance.

Fluid proposed a collaborative design approach centred on reconnecting the neighbourhood with its (new and existing) communities and assets, and knitting this into its composition.

The approach would involve restoring the High Street and reconnecting it to the waterside through the re-invention of the historic yards and the provision of leisure uses and public spaces on the canal side; whilst retaining working boatyards and supporting new work-home environments to create a living / working sustainable community.
