The role
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer to lead on all aspects of our in-house and project-based design. You will be responsible for leading a small creative team and co-ordinating freelancers, working closely with project teams and management to develop design strategies and programmes / resourcing to meet busy workflows.

You will be delivering across a multi-faceted set of creative services, including branding & identity, communication materials, layout/document design, website design, digital platforms, creative information visualisation and mapping.

We’re looking for a forward-thinker and team player who can help inform our graphic and digital offer. The role is client-facing, requiring good communications and flexibility. You will be managing and developing client relationships, as well as exploring work winning opportunities.

We often work ‘translating’ large volumes of data and complex ideas into accessible and engaging information displays for the general public, insights / experience in this area is particularly advantageous. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate sensitively tailoring outputs and wide range of design-identities to multiple needs.

It is essential to have strong knowledge of Adobe Creative suite and as an understanding of the print production process. A strategic understanding of websites and digital platform options is key and a solid basic ability in WordPress and HTML / CSS / JavaScript is also advantageous. However, the role is not developer focused and you will be working with freelancers on front-end delivery of websites. An understanding of digital surveys methods and social media is advantageous, but not essential.

You will have oversight of creative outputs, supporting colleagues in creative direction and quality. We are looking for someone organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and attention to detail. With proficient use of English language and ability to critically analyse content. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate initiative, dependability and maturity of thought.

Applicants should have a minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role and a Graphic Design degree/masters or equivalent. As well as an understanding of, or interest in, the built environment and community engagement sector – or related industry.
